Edmonton

Two weekends ago I made my way out to Edmonton to visit the Poultney family. These are quite possibly some of my favorite people in the whole world, so I had to make the trek out to see them and their new edition, Cai, who was just six weeks old when I was there to see him for the very first time.

It was a great weekend, other than the fact that I was deathly ill on the first couple days that I was there. It was nice to catch up, visit, and share stories from the past 15 months since I'd seen them last.

Since my trip there, I've been relaxing at home, as I have been for the last 5 weeks or so since being back in the country. I've been tutoring English privately and even got a job at a hagwon out in Langley. Although, yesterday I received a call for a job interview that I wasn't even aware that I'd applied for because my sister had randomly applied for me without my knowledge. Anyway, it's with the Boys and Girls Club and it would be full time for the summer, which is nice since I'll officially be a student this coming fall at UBC in their teaching program. Yep, I was accepted as of about a week and a half ago!

So, that being said, I've got to look out for myself and make money when possible, which means probably quitting my job at the hagwon, just cause the hours aren't really going to be enough for the summertime. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Another exciting fact, people are now starting to make their way home from overseas! Matt Davis, for example, is back in the country after a fifteen month stint abroad. I think I may have been more excited than he was to have him come home. It's definitely weird living here and not having the people around you that have been there for the last year plus of your life.

So, I'm happy that soon people will be here to hang out with me! Next up, Rob returns from India, Kevin comes to the lower mainland, then Jamie and Jennica, followed by Lydia and Nathan, though their visit is looking to be quite short. One missing link would have to be Sarah, who lives in effing Toronto. What's up with that anyway? And then there's Dan who calls his home Minnisota...ummm what? ;) Hopefully this coming fall when everyone is back around here, we'll have a little Korea reunion slash get together and reminice like crazy!

CONGRATS! That's so awesome about UBC. Mitchin.

Although Nathan and I leave for Thailand in two days, we have hit the 'I can't wait to get my ass home' stage. It's been tough lately. But, we look forward to chillaxin' with you in Canada!
