Another pair of glasses. Can you see them? I went for the polar opposite of the first pair that I bought, these have no frames.

More of the dark frames, check 'em out.

The tea pot I bought myself from my granny. It's exactly what I designed in my head. I love it.

Committment Issues

I'm going travelling with this yahoo for a month....and I'm stoked!

Well, I'm offically having to deal with this plague of committment that I typically fear.

This morning I booked 4 flights internally in Thailand for getting myself from Thailand to Singapore. Holy crap. AND I actually have in hand a ticket that confirms the major parts of my trip (Seoul-Osaka, Osaka-Bangkok, and Singapore-Seoul).

In other news, I'm settling into my semester here at Plus, which is fantastic because I'm outta here pretty quick, so it's smooth sailing from here. My students are fun and I'm liking my schedule more and more.

Also, I bought glasses here, which are SOOO cheap. Frames, perscription, eye test and lenses for a total of $40. Can't beat it. Anyway, the miracle is not that they're cheap, but that I've been wearing them for three days in a row. If you know me, even slightly well, you may not even know that I need glasses because I've just stopped wearing them. I got them first in grade nine and decided that they looked like crap, so just figured it would be better if I couldn't see. Anyway, I've got glasses that my students refer to as "Bbul Tae" which apparently refers to the style that they are, thicker rimmed plastic frames (kinda purpley grey).

Also, I'm becoming obsessed with funny videos, not dumb funny videos, but stand up type stuff or skits. (As if I ever wasn't obsessed with them, but I'm discovering new people...).
If you haven't yet been to The Lonely Island, you need to and check out the videos there.
Alternatively OR additionally, check out You Tube and search "Dave Attel" "Mitch Hedberg" and "Patrice O'Neal" and their performances on Comedy central. If you like laughing (and I know you do) you'll kill some time (or preciously spend your time) doing this....And then you'll thank me later!

Talk to you soon!

Ahhh Borneo!

Well, my heart has committed. Shocking, I know. Committed to what, you ask? A two month long trip that will take place post-Korea. That's right, I'm not coming home right away, I've decided to spend two months traveling in South East Asia before heading home.

For those who could care less...please, spare yourself and stop reading or skip to the previous article...

Here's a brief breakdown of my trip as it stands now:

February 28th
Fly Seoul to Osaka, Japan. Spend 7-8 days in Kyoto. Kyoto is supposed to be the cultural heart of Japan and if you've read Memoirs of a Geisha, you'd know what I was talking about when I say...I'm gonna see a Geisha no matter what!

March 7th
Fly from Osaka to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. Chill there riding elephants for a while.

March 19th
Fly to Phuket in Southern Thailand. Stay at the beach for a couple weeks and visit various Thai islands.

March 30th
Fly to Singapore to meet Matt Davis and from here take a bus/train to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Backpack Penninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo for one month.

April 25th
Fly from Singapore to Seoul. Stay the night in Seoul and pick up my stuff that I left behind and some very kind and generous friends' houses ;).

April 26th
Fly Seoul to Vancouver. Take a friggin rest and hang out with everyone from home after a 14 month absence from the best country in the world!

If you're still reading, congrats. I know it can be boring to read an itinerary, but there have been many people asking me what I'm doing when I'm finished teaching. So, this is it...more or less. Although all plans are subject to change...I guess. Or is that just my way of avoiding a written commitment!

I'd love to know what your plans are. Email me anytime and let me know!

Well, the inevitable has happened. My sister is engaged!!

I think everyone and their dog predicted that it would go down over Christmas, no secrets there. Anyway, Congratulations go out to both Rachel and Dave! I'm very excited for the two of them and they're looking at setting a date sometime in September.

I'd love to show you pictures but Blogger is being Lame-o. So, I posted them on my Xanga site. Check 'em out.
Pics will be up on blogger when it stops being a jerk.
